Commissioned as a celebration of the timeless beauty of tropical landscapes, this painting was created with the feel of a vintage travel poster and the atmosphere of old school botanical and nature paintings. The client wanted something nostalgic and richly decorative, inspired by the romantic way tropical landscapes were once portrayed in classic paintings and printed posters. I combined a soft, painterly atmosphere with lush foliage, palms, colourful macaws, distant mountains and reflective water to create a scene that feels both familiar and dreamlike. The intention was not to create a perfectly realistic landscape, but to capture the charm of an imagined tropical paradise through colour, texture and atmosphere. The slightly weathered, vintage quality gives the work the character of something discovered from another era, while the birds and dense vegetation bring the scene to life.
